Sound insulation with porous absorbers is particularly effective when the sound waves are attenuated at the velocity maximum, which is found one-quarter of the sound wavelength away from the wall or window. The velocity maximum for the human voice, with its low frequency range, however, is around half a meter or more away from the wall, which is practically impossible to implement as a construction depth for absorbers inside buildings.

In cooperation with Bayer MaterialScience, SilenceSolutions has developed a range of designs for effective noise absorption in offices, which can be adapted to the respective situation and and being used as a sound shield reduces noise by 20 dB (A) and more. They are based on absorber walls comprising a multi-layer system of flexible polyurethane foam enclosed in a perforated metal cassette.

The modular, frameless LED (light emitting diode) tiles can be used to build lighting systems that enable precise monitoring of light color, light quantity and color balance. A diffuser sheet made from Makrolon® polycarbonate conveys light outwards in the flat tile.

The “FREE FORM” seat from Italian furniture manufacturer Fratelli Rossetto sas has a half-shell-shaped surface which is both attractive to look at and extremely comfortable. It is manufactured using the flexible, elastic polyurethane foam Bayflex® 20/30 from Bayer MaterialScience's Italian systems house Deltapur.
